We have a great selection of M-1951 fishtail parkas to choose from catering for all budgets.
The M-1951 fishtail parka was mass produced by the U.S. Army and is the parka coat most are familiar with from the sixties. The clever design allows a wearer to add or remove the winter fur hood. Once removed, the wearer still has a plain hood which forms part of the outer shell. The detachable liners can also be removed as the cold wintry weather improves. Thus, a parka coat for most seasons.
Our Stonetail M51 parka is produced as per 1st Gen M51 parka's using the heavy wind resistant cotton sateen material. The 1st Gen M51's were only in production for a short period of time and are rarer compared to 2nd Gen versions. We have also Teflon treated the material making it waterproof. The Stonetail M51 parka oozes quality and we believe it is the best on the market. The fine details on the Stonetail M51's are true down to the fine details such as stamps on the zip.
The Classic M-1951 fishtail parka's that we sell are based on 2nd Gen M51's. The material is the lighter Cotton twill known as Poplin. Negative points are that the colour is more of an olive green compared to original M51 parka's which were a darker green shade. Also, the material is a little thinner than it could be. The detachable liners used are the M65 type parka liner which consisted of a Nylon covering and Polyester Batting filling. These are a great mod parka for their respective price range.
Due to the success and quality of our Stonetail M51 fishtail parka's we have decided to move a way from originals now.
